Customer Reviews
The Coop serves a standard fare of chicken, hamburgers and pasta but the quality and taste of the food is at the 5 star end of the spectrum for such fare when the price is considered. Never before has such a good meal been served to so many people at such a good price. And if you sit at the bar, you can order from the bartender and you get your food as soon as it is ready. So 5 stars for service even if I didn't get a black-attired waiter with a corkscrew and 36" pepper mill. Atmosphere? Do you like dive bars? Would you like to be surrounded by inanimate representations of chicken? Do you mind if the person next to you chooses to yell at their cell phone because they are tuned into a fight while the bars televisions are tuned to the latest match of Olympic curling and no one cares? This is not a tourist spot. It's for locals. It also is a bar. If you don't like that atmosphere don't go. Otherwise it's cute and my breakfast sausage links were to die for even at 3 in the afternoon. Atmosphere was horseracing sports games and commentary and barfly conversations. My husband didn't care for his dinner entree but he was very hungry and he ate it.
I went here with a large church group. We had a reservation && utilized the big back room, seating about 30+ people. The food was great, the atmosphere was amazing - we stayed until closing and the employees didn't complain. They were very friendly &provided great service. 10/10 would recommend.
To be completely transparent i have not been to the chicken coop, the 5 stars are simply to not put them down or pass any judgment on either food or service. I was in that building in 1988 or 89, when It was own by a French gentleman and it was called "Le Biarritz", his home town in France. It was elegant, it had white table cloth, real silver silverware, a beautiful bar that commanded respect, the type of place where you would find Porsches, Mercedes, Bmw's. The kind of place that you would feel out of place in jeans... it was a really classy place. I remember the grand piano in the corner playing some awesome music, candles on the tables and a plush carpet that made you feel like you were a star on Oscar night. I don't know what happened to Ivan Humber, him and i, both french were frien
I had Chicken Fried Steak it's my first time. Very good crispy delicious with salad. I love a homey meal with a local feel to the establishment. Waiters were very polite. I will be back!
