The Chowder House Restaurant

I like Chowder House. The halibut-corn chowder is on point and the turkey bacon swiss sandwich I ordered was delicious. I was there for a late lunch, so I had half of a sandwich that came with chips and a cup of chowder served with crackers. It was the perfect amount to fill me up and I've got a pretty decent appetite! I've always wanted to try their desserts because they look amazing in the display case but I've never had enough room left! The service is adequate and the food comes out pretty quickly. I only wish they'd dress the dining room up a bit. It's clean and effective, just a little blah. If you're looking for some fantastic chowder and a great sub or sanwich without any fuss, I'd definitely recommend Chowder House!

Stopped in for weekly dining out experience in local area. Quiet atmosphere with some music playing. Felt almost like eating in a cafeteria. Food was well prepared with proper seasoning.

Sara Joe our waitress was absolutely astonishing ! Best personality! Best service ! … AND the FOOD !!! Was absolutely delightful !!!! We got a little of everything ! First time here tonight! We tried the boom boom shrimp 🍤, fried calamari, fish & chips , coleslaw along with onion rings !! … and on the way out .. got us some bread pudding to take home 🏡 thank you Sara , as well as the owner (the cook ) for amazing service and food ! - Orange Blossom Painting 🍊

the lobster bisque and fried foods were good. The spaghetti, and stuffed haddock were not good at all. The stuffing is from a box. The spaghetti sauce has no spices. The place is not very clean. The bathroom is nasty. The tables aren't very clean. The floor is stained, dirty and beaten up. Even the walls are splattered with old food. It's expensive for what it is. I didn't get clams because they do not shuck their own on premises, they said the clams were never frozen though.... I don't know how.

First time here,and was very pleased. The food was very good and the portions were large. The home made pies were delicious. Our waitress Candy was exceptional. The Tuesday night special prices were amazing.
