Refined, but not stuffy, atmosphere at this farm-to-table Greenwich Avenue restaurant by Chef Brian Lewis. Love the creative cocktail menu (try the Japanese Vesper). Food menu suggests sharing with lots of small plates and some larger items. Truffled deviled eggs, lobster spaghetti and the mushroom agnolotti were great. Will repeat
If you seek an elevated / trendy yet super cozy place for date night or girls’ night out, head to The Cottage, which is located in the heart of downtown Greenwich, Connecticut. Here, the cottage-coastal vibes are so strong, the service is a 10/10, and the food is absolutely delicious! (We snagged a cute little booth by the front windows—one of the best seats in the house.) Highly recommend kicking your meal off with “Turn the Lights On” cocktail (mezcal, St. Germain, pineapple, and Rockey’s) and the Kusshi oysters on the half shell, which has a citrusy yuzu mignonette. For mains, I had my eye on the sweet street corn tortelloni, and it did not disappoint.
If you’re looking for a refined dining experience in Greenwich with creative modern American cuisine, The Cottage is a very solid choice. The atmosphere and food combine nicely for special occasions or when you want something a bit elevated. Just be aware of the price point and that the menu leans more towards inventive dishes than traditional comfort fare
The Cottage is an absolute gem! From the moment you walk in, the warm yet upscale ambiance sets the tone for an incredible dining experience. The service was attentive and welcoming. I started with an espresso martini, which was perfectly balanced. The crab toast was a standout appetizer—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. For mains, the Cottage burger was cooked to perfection, and the lobster spaghetti was rich. To end the meal on a sweet note, the cookies and milk dessert was a nostalgic yet elevated treat.
I’ve seen some mixed reviews for this location recently, and frankly, I don’t know what those people are talking about. If you didn’t have a 5-star meal here, you simply ordered wrong. This is execution at the highest level. While I was initially disappointed to see the famous Duck Fried Rice off the menu at this location, the kitchen more than made up for it. We pivoted to the Hudson Valley Duck Tortelloni, and it was a revelation—curried duck confit with coconut peri peri and sunflower dukkah. It brought that same rich, savory satisfaction I was looking for, but with a more refined, pasta-forward delivery. The classics are still hitting hard, too. The Wagyu Brisket Bao Buns remain undefeated; the duck fat potato tempura inside is still the best textural move in Connecticut dining. We a
