The George of Old Town

Note: I booked this room through their website, not AirBnB. As such, there was no way for me to contact the host directly (as I was under the impression this was a staffed bed and breakfast or hotel, as it lists itself as on Google and on AirBnB) as the website makes it seem as if there is some kind of concierge (which there is not). With no concierge, calling a random number on a website seemed futile after normal business hours. Not sure how it manages to list itself as a hotel on AirBnB with zero staff or concierge on site. It’s more like a gym locker that you get the code to use for the day than it is an actual hotel or bed and breakfast. This is simply an overpriced, under-serviced option. The George is a one of a kind stay in Old Town! The home is georgous with beautifully decorated rooms and a comfy outdoor terrace. The space was the perfect location for my small intimate wedding. My family could not say enough at how unique the home is and how it is in the best location for taking in Old Town. The owner Jim was beyond helpful and very communicative during my wedding planning process. Would highly recommend staying here if you have the opportunity!

I couldn't have been more impressed with my stay at The George of Old Town, and I can't wait to return! While I'm not much of a history buff, staying at The George felt like a monumental experience. The kitchen we used was originally built for Martha Washington during George and Martha's time in Alexandria, which added a special touch to our visit. The building itself is gorgeous, perfectly blending historical charm with modern updates. The space was clean, well-kept, and exuded luxury with thoughtful design details throughout. We had an amazing stay at The George! The property was super clean, beds were so comfortable, and the owners were so helpful and accommodating. We had my daughter's first birthday party at the property and all of our family was able to stay there with us. The property perfectly blends history with modern design making the experience extra special! Everyone had such a great time. We will absolutely be staying at The George again soon!!

Don't come to Alexandria and stay in a hotel. Instead, have an experience. The George is one of Alexandria's most distinguished historic properties. The space is amazing and lovingly preserved. The beds are lush and comfortable. The host is responsive to any questions that might arise and gives that personal touch. Not only will be able to tell people that you slept on property once owned by George Washington, you will have an enriching and beautiful experience that you'll remember for years. I have stayed in several historic properties in Old Town, but none are like The George.
