Customer Reviews
Great North hit several spots well. My buddy’s cortado was SPOT ON. And it didn’t come in a paper cup! Nice. My buddy Aldo is pretty picky when it comes to his cortado so saying it was “just right” is a massive compliment. I always order a black coffee. The price was pretty similar to other coffee shops ($4.25 if I remember correctly for a 12 oz.). The coffee was yummy. But one of my complaints for this shop and for most coffee shops is that they charge for refills. Really? It’s a black freaking coffee that I just paid over $4 for! And then they add another $1 for steamed cream. I get it. I get it. But really? There’s a coffee shop in Vancouver where I can get my back coffee with steamed cream for under $3. And there’s no upcharge for steaming the cream (which literally takes like 10 secon
One climbs the sacred mountain, struggles upward towards the muse, the ultimate goal. This ascent is a deep part of humanity, the striving upwards to wisdom. The path towards enlightenment describes who we are, the search for an ultimate revelation. What if, in that iconic striving towards the top of the mountain, one arrives and there is no wise teacher, no sword in a stone, no meat in the hamburger? It is a breakdown in the hero’s tale, a movie with no ending. The Great North has some great things going for it. The barista was kind, the atmosphere welcoming and the noise a rumble of conversation and espresso machine, present, but not obtrusive. It was clean and I liked the white washed counter and the open layout. Even the price was on point. But here we have the place where the path
The Great North is a great place to grab a good quality coffee. Baristas are always very sweet here and will make your day! Food and pastries are also really good here too!
This spot has been my go-to for great coffee. They keep the place stocked with freshly roasted whole beans for the home coffee aficionados as well. Pastries and breakfast sandwiches are also great, with plenty of options. Baristas now how to pull great shots of their in house beans.
They got my coffee right! Excellent cortado (with latte art) and served with a side of sparkling water. My wife ordered a cap which was also perfect. They had a good selection of single origin coffee and provided great advice on which one to pick based on my preferences. Both baristas understood the assignment and were extremely nice. Place was packed (a good thing!) but was still able to find good seating. They roast their own coffee. Will be back!
