The Honey Baked Ham Company

Anxiously walked into this location (Beaverton) to pick up our fresh ham as we enjoy these hams and food offerings at this location as our Oregon City store can not get their horrible customer service corrected as they are franchised (so i hear). On this day unfortunately no different. Was greeted by an employee blurting out and saying "your phone number" while looking down at the register. His body language made It look like he may have been on a headset taking an order so I hesitated for a moment to walk up closer to the counter so that to give what I thought space for the phone order. Again I hear repetitive asking for a phone number twice. Counter person still not looking up I finally said "are you taking to me" as now I'm a little taken back as there was.no hello, welcome in, etc. T

This is on the Hawaiian roles specifically. They were out and started "packaging" some up in house. How are they out but somehow have loose roles laying around they can hand wrap in cellophane? Are they even Hawaiian roles at this point? I don't recommend buying Hawaiian roles here. I never will again. You can get twice as many from Costco for the same price and they won't hand them to you loose. 🤣

I remember a long time ago way before COVID that they would let you see the ham that you were going to buy. Thats gone out the door. When I tried to see the ham I was told I couldn't due to COVID. I'm just sick and tired of everybody blaming everything on COVID. Anyway back to my review so I didn't get to see the ham prior to purchasing two of them. They were tasty but I was told by a few people at my Christmas dinner that the spiraled cut ham I purchased at Costco for Thanksgiving (pineapple maraschino cherrys - the old fashioned way) tasted even better. Just wasn't as special as I thought it would be. I thought Honey Baked was better back in the day. Wish I could have given a better review.

I saw the relatively good ratings for this place, so I stopped in while shopping at Fred Meyer. Unfortunately I can't say it was an awesome experience. I purchased the sandwich meal, which costs $14.95. I chose to eat in instead of takeout, and I noticed how dark it is in the dining area, and how noisy with all the ham freezers/refrigerators rumbling away. One of the workers brought my sandwich, which was quite small and hastily put together. I asked where my drink was, and they went back behind the counter. They then called out to me that they had no cups so would I take a can of Sprite instead? So, $14.95 for a small sandwich, a small bag of chips and a can of Sprite. There are better deals in the area.

Angel was very kind and pleasant. He provided excellent customer service. And of course, the food is always wonderful and very nostalgic for me.
