⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I stopped in at House of Soul Food on Mason Avenue in Daytona Beach and had one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time. The meatloaf was probably the best I’ve ever tasted—seasoned perfectly and cooked just right. The macaroni and cheese was creamy, rich, and absolutely delicious, and the candy yams were an unexpected but perfect surprise that tied everything together. I honestly didn’t realize how much of a soul food lover I was until this meal showed me what I’d been missing. If you’re in Daytona and craving real comfort food, this is the spot.

HORRIBLE! The chicken was not cooked all the way through. The fries was not cooked. The fries was limp and greasy. The cooked to order food was rushed and not cooked properly. I had to put the chicken in the oven at home to have more cook time so my family won’t get salmonella poisoning. Customer service was okay but the workers was arguing and cussing at each other in front of customers. The Mac and cheese was good and the corn bread was soft and good. Oxtails gravy was nasty. They put minced garlic in collard greens omg this is not soul food. I would honestly rate the food a zero but that’s not an option.

My boyfriend and I had the pleasure of dining at House of Soul Food, and it was an absolutely wonderful experience! From the moment we arrived, Sam made us feel so welcome. She was incredibly sweet, patient, and took the time to answer all of our questions about the menu, which made our visit feel personal and special. The food was delicious, authentic, comforting, and cooked to perfection. My boyfriend had the meatloaf, collard greens, and black-eyed peas, and I enjoyed the barbecue chicken, black-eyed peas, and green beans. Everything was bursting with flavor, and the portions were generous. We were also delighted by the little piece of cornbread they included it was sweet, moist, and absolutely memorable! The combination of amazing food, friendly service, and a welcoming atmosphere ma

This was my second attempt ordering from here. The service was decent although she seemed more concerned with her cell phone than interacting with me. First visit - showed up around 5:30pm on a Friday and was told I couldn’t order fish as the kitchen was closed for a “deep cleaning”. I ended up ordering two sides, the MAC & cheese and the collards. The collards were excellent, the Mac & cheese was ok, not impressed. Decided to give the place a second chance the following Tuesday around 6:45pm. Second visit - ordered the Tilapia dinner with collards, Mac & cheese, rice and cornbread. Two large pieces of fish UNDER COOKED (still had pink). Again the collards were excellent and while the Mac & cheese was better than my first visit, I’m not impressed. The cornbread was a TINY puck, cold and dr

All I can say, I will never eat there again. The food was horrible. The macaroni and cheese had no seasoning and just nasty. The green beans were disgusting. The rice was terrible. The gravy had no thickness to it. It was very salty no flavor. The baked chicken was OK. The skin had some stuff all over the back of it. It was just overall not good. Just my opinion
