My spear ribs were prefectly smoked and tasted awesome. Brisket was OK. I found the menu pricing to be on the high side for Gainesville. With the low overhead of self service and low maintenance interioer design I wasn't expecting the cost. The spare ribs were worth the price but the Brisket sandwich was lacking. My sides of Fries,Baked Beans, and cole slaw, was mediocre. Staff was very polite. Lunch for two, Brisket Sandwich with fries, Five ribs bones and two small sides and a sweet tea, $48. If you want great smoked ribs I highly recommend The inked Pig, the other menu items I mentioned above, do not compare.
I'm always on the hunt for BBQ that makes it worth coming back. The inked pig bbq grabbed my attention and kept it. The atmosphere is all chickens and skull candies beside skeletons and s Christmas tree. The BBQ was a perfect balance of smokey juicy goodness. My bacon slices added a beautiful crunch to my sandwich. If recommend you stop in here if you are in the area. It's with the bite.
This pulled pork mac (Train Wreck as listed on the menu) was very well balanced flavor wise. The pork immaculate and sauce fairly tame and complemented the meat well. No element stood out to much and the jalapeños poked our at the very end. The atmosphere for me was spooky and jovial (came in december) . Decently worth a stop in.
I got a half rack of ribs. To me the true test of ribs is how they taste without sauce. I got the Carolina sauce and never tried it. The ribs were so tender and flavorful they didn’t need sauce. The big negative was a 10% charge for to go orders. It’s getting tiresome having places shift their cost of doing business to the customer. Will not come back due to the surcharge. There are really good BBQ places out there that don’t pull this garbage.
Loved everything! Even let seniors order off The kid/senior menu! I had The BBQ sandwich with their homemade coleslaw and loved every bite. I chose the sweet sauce but they also had spicy and Carolina mustard sauce as well. The cornmeal fried Okra was the best I have ever had and as a senior I have had a lot. My husband had the smoked turkey, collards and Brunswick stew! All were great. Best collards - a little sweet but cooked to the right tenderness! A great little place in Gainesville, GA we discovered on our way to Elijay to visit friends.
