Can I start by saying we already want to plan our next visit? We had a triple crown experience, atmosphere, great service and delicious food. We love that the menus change seasonally, the steaks are well sourced and nicely prepped. The sides were elevated without losing that comfort food vibe! The crab cake moved into first place position as best crab cake ever. It was moist with a crispy exterior, very crab forward. I had the filet, potato’s and veggies and I was not at all disappointed. Our server, Denise was super sweet. She was knowledgeable about the menu and prep as well as the wine selection. Desserts were wonderful- tasty and beautifully presented.
We had a great experience at the James. Andrew was our server and he was phenomenal! One of our friends has celiacs disease and he made sure that evening was taken care of so she didn’t have to worry. The GF menu is huge! And honestly as someone who isn’t GF, the GF blue crab dip and bread was delicious. The crème brûlée is a must try! 10/10 would recommend coming here. The food, the vibes, the drinks, the service - all wonderful!
One of my favorite restaurants in the Western Suburbs. Impeccable service and menu items; you really can’t beat a seasonal menu. Special shout to Rexie and Jimmy for their attention to detail and making every day extra ordinary! ✨
Update. Since dining here a little over a month ago, was since diagnosed Celiac, and I was afraid I would not be able to enjoy coming here anymore. I went for lunch though and discovered with so much joy, they have a thoughtful Gluten-free menu with so many options! I enjoyed a smooth lobster bisque from the pick two menu, alongside a blue crab grilled cheese on a gluten free bun. I’ll take it! Would be slightly better if it were on actual sliced bread (consider for the future?) but service was great too. I wouldn’t put powdered sugar on sorbet, however. Sorbet is best as a pallet cleanser and left to be tart. My friend also enjoyed her French onion soup and sandwich. Keep up the greatness that is here. The James in Geneva has become a new favorite of mine this past year. The food is so t
The James is wonderful intimate, cozy, romantic restaurant . Modern and tasty cuisine Old style house that was converted into a restaurant. At least 100+ years old building. Patio area is spacious and very welcoming with outdoor bar and live music. We came when Ross Filla sang and it was great! Food is high quality and service friendly and go above and beyond. Special shout out to our server Ash she is the best! She made our evening amazing
