It was so cool to be able to stay in the Kate Shepherd house for two nights, during our stay in Mobile in mid January. Just so happens, we were the only people in the house and we allowed to pretty much have the place to ourselves. We mostly just looked around and admired all the History that was on display in various cabinets. We also have the modern conveniences of some coffee makers and a refrigerator that was full of little drinks and knickknacks for us to enjoy, during our stay. Kelley was absolutely wonderful and even came to meet us our first night there, and was accessible. Should we need anything.

We called on the way into Mobile and were able to get The Barber room for Saturday night. The house and the room were lovely, clean and very comfortable. Oddly, we never saw another human while we were there. Everything was quite satisfactory save the "breakfast" which consisted of a couple of Costco cookies and muffins served in their plastic containers, sweet granola bars, and sweet instant oatmeal. The Nespresso coffee was good.

Excellent stay with outstanding communication from the host, who provided very clear and helpful instructions via email before arrival. Instructions, guidance, and useful touristic information are thoughtfully placed throughout the house, making everything easy and enjoyable. The rooms are very clean and well maintained, and the whole house has a warm, welcoming vibe and atmosphere. The house itself is truly special—staying there feels like living in a museum, full of character, history, and unique details. The location is excellent as well. Highly recommended for anyone who appreciates authentic places with a story.

4.5 stars wasn’t an option. Since I did truly enjoy my stay I decided to round up instead of down. I was in town to spend time with my child who attends ASMS. The house is very close to the school so the location was perfect. Overall my stay was very comfortable. The mattress in the Catherine room was a little firm for my taste and the bathroom mirror is not mounted in a convenient place for a short person, but those weren’t horrible inconveniences. I do wish there was a way to adjust the temperature of one’s individual room. I was quite cold. Thankfully there were extra blankets that were easily accessible so there was a solution that allowed me to sleep comfortably. My favorite part of the stay was that the house — which is gorgeous — provided a wonderful backdrop so to speak to take pho

Beautiful B&B so close to most Mobile's attractions. The room was spotless and the breakfast, although continental, was very generous. The kitchen, literally, has everything and the grand piano was such an amazing show stopper for us.
