Waiting 20 minutes for a waitress on a Thursday night is crazy. After we finally got our food it was hot and tasted good but was told by two people they would bring ketchup. 10 minutes later it finally shows up. At this point I asked for my check and a manager. When the waitress returned she simply stated “I can’t find her”. Definitely shows why my experience went how it did. Won’t be returning.
I love this place and will be going back there. Next time I go to New Jersey. As soon as we sat down, we were brought an Italian bread. Warm oh my goodness so good. Bobby had a calzone. I ordered a meatball sub. I only could eat half of. It was so good though. And if you look at the picture of the calzone, it was huge. The waitress was so sweet. Just very, very nice people all the way around I can’t wait to go back there.
Food was so so. Wasn't bad wasnt good. We sat down right away. And about 15mins later a table of 7 sat behind us. They all got there food before us. Seems like theres favorites maybe. We were a table of 2. The waitress wasn't exactly the nicest. But wasnt rude either. The heat in the place is a joke. They have electric heaters everywhere. And still wasnt warm whatsoever. The silverware is that of a dollar store. Yet we had a 212 dollar bill for 2. Like I said its not horrible. But I wouldnt rave about it.
My husband and I live near the Lamppost and have for the past 25 years. We have always frequented the place as our local spot. But recently the food and service has really improved! I cannot tell you how wonderful we were treated there tonight. If you haven't tried it in a while try it again for the first time. We introduced ourselves to Brian the new owner and wished him the best of luck......he seems like a hard worker and very dedicated to making his own success! Good luck and great job!
We have been going to the Lamp Post for years. Yes there have been times when the bartender/wait staff have disappeared. We have a friend (Ed) who makes the pizza and it is a home run everytime he makes our pizza. They do have other menu items that are very good. We have had a bad meal recently only once, and I believe it was during the transition of changing owners. We had the pleasure of meeting the new owner (Brian) the other day and I think once he works out the kinks, no one will have to worry about the missing staff member. Please give this new owner a chance. Their food is 99 percent spot on.
