The Landing Zone MO

Visited in June 2025. Food and service were great. Visited again a couple weeks later and there was a note on the door that they were closed that day due to staffing. That was a $200 non-hamburger day. Might call ahead just to verify they are open if planning to fly in but we do plan on going again and going several times. It is a great paved runway restaurant for when WX restricts grass strip access at other places around the MO/AR/KS area.

It was alright - I got the French Toast with a side of Hash Browns and Scrambled Eggs. Ran me about 15 bucks for the meal, call it 18 with a tip - expensive for the quality, but I guess it IS an airport diner. The eggs were amazing, but the hashbrowns and french toast were pretty bland and flavourless. If you just got off a 6 hour flight I'm sure it would be pretty good - I did not though, and as such I'd suggest going to the ihop 10 minutes away instead.

This is a really neat place to visit if you like seeing planes. Planes ascending, Planes descending, planes landing, planes sitting on the tarmac. However, there are only like 6 tables outside, and they look to be 2 seaters. There are at least 20 tables inside, but 3 were scooted together so by the time we got there, my spouse, myself and baby were sitting at a 6 seater table. If the tables were more split, they could have gotten more service. We got here around 8am on a Sunday and were seated right away. By the time we left, it was a 45 minute wait. Additionally, you can't really see the tarmac from the inside unless you're seated in a booth. Even then, a table is right on the other side of the window. The food was good. We got the kids pancakes, spinach omelette, and country fried steak.

The food is really good. 5 Stars to Server "Carrie"!! She is one of the best servers I've had. Her Smile and Genuine Attitude will make Anyone a return customer!! Thank You Young Lady for making Our meal better than just the flavor.

We have been eating here for over 3-4 years, mainly Breakfast. It seems that after the Restaurant changed hands, and new Management brought their particular style, the quality / quantity of food has dramatically gone down. I know there was one of their kitchen staff who recently retired, but I mainly place the reduced satisfaction directly on the Management. We have a server who is outstanding, I just wish they would listen to their customer complaints and get them resolved. I reached out to the Management through their "Contact us page", but no response.
