I stumbled along this game cafe heading to a nearby appointment. The energy and vibe was On-Point for a game cafe. It was fun to see so many people playing various board games upstairs, a local musician working on his music, a father hanging out with his son… just a very diverse crowd, but it was buzzing with good vibes! I’m not the gamer type, but I can 100% appreciate being in a space where people can come and genuinely enjoy their time there. I ordered my SF almond milk latte (made with local Duluth Coffee Company coffee), had stellar service, and the thought of it all made me smile on my way out. :-)
Hands down one of the best coffee shops in Duluth. Staff and owners and friendly and welcoming. Coffee is amazing, and they also have a wide variety of baked goods and creative food items. I always get a white chocolate pistachio latte and it’s the best coffee you can get in the northland, pair that with a cranberry jalapeño chicken croissant and I’m in heaven. Beautiful community space they have created here. 10/10
I went here for the first time with my boyfriend since we are both into games and enjoy trying new cafes in Duluth. I ordered the Honey Mustard Wrap and was very disappointed because I was served raw chicken in my wrap when I was already halfway done. I am currently expecting, so being served undercooked food was especially concerning and upsetting. The staff did give a refund and the atmosphere and concept of the cafe are great, but this experience was a serious health and safety issue. I hope the staff can improve their food preparation and quality control to prevent this from happening to others.
If you’re a board game lover, or even just looking for a unique spot to grab coffee, I HIGHLY recommend you give this place a stop!! Matt, one of the owners, is super friendly and makes great conversation! The shop has a great atmosphere to it and is very clean! I got one of the Eevee-lusion drinks, honey lavender, and I throughly enjoyed it! Along with coffee they have tea options as well! Some of the drinks have a different/unique taste to them, which makes them great options if you’re looking to try something new!
We had a great experience at our first visit to Loch. The owner is a true gem and went above and beyond as far as service goes. The coffee and treats were top notch and the gaming area was perfect. We will definitely be back!
