The Mansion at Elfindale

Quirky and full of history. Wonderful hostess. The best water pressure we’ve come across - great shower! Clean and comfortable. Big rooms, all individual, we had a ground floor one. Fluffy towels, coffee machine in the room and pastries and orange juice for breakfast. Everything you could want.

What a gem! I love historic buildings and this has that plus superior hospitality and comfort and at a VERY reasonable price. Myra is a lovely hostess and Samantha is an incredible cook and a whiz if the TV needs resetting. The day I left, I peeked into some of the unoccupied rooms that had their doors open and each room is lovelier than the next, with unique touches and layout and all are spacious. Samantha cooks the breakfasts from scratch and provided me an earlier than normal breakfast on Saturday. Both mornings, all the great food set me up for the day. I can't recommend this lovely mansion enough!

The mansion was very interesting and very incredibly kind office staff but the hours of availability of anyone helping you is very unaccomodating. Most importantly my room key fit and worked on other doors so the safety was a huge issue for me. I didn't know this until day of checkout but anyone had access to my room at all times that had a room also. The shower is uncomfortable use as well, but clean sheets and kind person working the desk.

Upon arrival, I was warmly greeted by Myra, who made me feel like a welcomed guest and not simply another customer to check in. She’s friendly and quite the resource of knowledge regarding the mansions history and the history of Springfield in general. My room was an exciting mix of history and modern amenities (mini fridge, coffee bar, toiletries) and the bed was comfortable (I was SO thankful to have a soft quilt and not the suffocating comforter hotels use!). My only regrets are that my single night stay was too short to enjoy the room during daytime hours, I didn’t have time to explore the property, and I didn’t have more time to visit with Myra. I will be returning with my family for a longer stay, and highly recommend The Mansion at Elfindale for your next Springfield visit!
