The Orchid House

Stopped by January 2026 touring Sparta and after reviewing the comments by past guests, was totally amazed and thrilled. Everything you see in the pictures are fascinating and definitely worth a stay at this one-of-a-kind treasure. Julia, our hostess, gave a us a tour and history of this b/b that truly captures the essence and splendor of living back in time. Thanks for the visit, and don't forget to try the home made dark chocolate and maraschino cherry muffins. They are as advertised!

We rented this room online and it was a great find. Julia is such a wonderful host. She greeted us upon our arrival and made sure we had everything we needed for our night. Our room had a very comfortable bed and private bathroom. Upon waking in the morning she will make you breakfast before you leave for your next stop. We both had ham and cheese omelets and they were great. We will stay again when in the area. Bonus that it is within walking distance to the White Rooster.

I would highly recommend Orchid House in Sparta. My family needed a couple rooms for a few days and a third for a night. My parents moved to assisted living a couple years ago and now we don’t have a place to stay. Unfortunately we were in town for my father’s funeral. Julia has know my parents for a long time, even my grandfather. Knowing our situation she put up the no vacancy sign and gave us the whole house, to give us some privacy. We had family coming in from all over. We were able to spend time together to make memory boards, tell lots of stories, play games and be family. She cooked amazing food for us, provided us with ironing board and iron, pretty much anything we needed she had us covered. This is such a terrific place, it was perfect for our one-night stay. My wife and I wanted to go visit Scratch Brewery, so we were looking for a place sort of nearby. The innkeepers Julia and George are truly delightful people, very kind and attentive; and Julia is an outstanding cook. The room was so nice and the bed comfortable. We had a relaxing time sitting on the spacious back porch and going to the White Rooster Farmhouse Brewery a short walk away. I am often quite picky about where I stay, and I found no fault whatever in The Orchid House. We will definitely be back again.

Julia and George are wonderful people. The home is lovely. Lots of great knick knacks and stories. Comfortable bed, and the breakfasts were so enjoyable... Made to order. A perfect place for the weekend. White Rooster Brews within walking distance.
