Customer Reviews
Great atmosphere, genuine service. And it's hard to say anything negative about anybody who hosts local musicians. However, we ended up just getting appetizers and drinks after a hike. While the sauces were great, they did the heavy lifting for the fried chicken. The batter was void of flavor. At most the egg came forward more than whatever else is supposed to be there. The fish and chips had a more promising batter but lacked any sort of structure. It was oily and cod goo at best. $40 should go further than that. Everyone I work with talks this restaurant up and I'll chalk this up to an off-day and definitely see whats up with this whiskey-wednesday everyone keeps mentioning.
It is always good to find a new spot, even if it is only new to us. The Ponderosa is on one of our routes, but we've never stopped. We enjoyed a lively time in the bar and had good service and food. My wife like her BLTA and my beers were fresh and tasty. The fish and chips were OK, a bit mushy.
We came in for a hearty dinner and started with the wings—crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and paired nicely with ranch. For the main course, the prime rib was tender, flavorful, and cooked just right, served alongside fresh, vibrant vegetables and a perfectly baked potato. Everything tasted like it came out of a well-seasoned kitchen that knows its classics. While I was a bit surprised by the recent price increases, I understand the reality of rising costs everywhere. The portion sizes, quality of ingredients, and attentive service helped justify the spend, though it’s something to keep in mind for the future. Overall, it was a satisfying and well-prepared meal in a comfortable atmosphere.
Amazing food desert and appetizers! 100% recommend for dinner or lunch
