The Rackhouse Tavern

Oh my, what a great experience! We enjoyed our old fashioned cocktails and our entrees of salmon and steak. Being a Yankee I wasn’t sure if I would like the collard greens, but they were delicious. We topped off our meal with a cheesecake that was really rich-the two of us were pleased with everything!

It was a bit cold by the garage door. We went for Valentine's Day lunch and both had the French dip. It was pretty good but I wished I had ordered biscuits and gravey! I love the comfortable atmosphere and the fire place.

Place looked great when I walked in. Service was immediately attentive. Ordered a Kentucky brown. 25 minutes later I had to ask someone where my lunch was. Out it came looking like it's sat under a heat lamp for 15 minutes. Bacon wanted to crack a tooth. Super salty which turned my stomach a bit. I saw the burger come out on somebody else's plate. Should have ordered that. Didn't see the staff again until I was well done or I would have sent the sandwich back right away. Don't know if I would come back again.

We were staying at the Campbell House and had two $15 voucher for breakfast as special from hotel. A pretty small breakfast menu. We were pleasantly surprised as our food was well made and it hit the spot. I really love the high ceilings and farm house decor. It was a bit cooler than our liking so be sure to bring a light jacket.

I had the roasted quail, and my hubby had the steak. Everything was cooked to perfection, wonderful flavor combinations. A beautiful setting, and exemplary service.
