The Refuge Coffee Bar

We stopped by this afternoon before heading to the beach, and we had the best experience! Andrew was incredibly helpful when I was deciding between two flavors—his suggestion led me to the hazelnut latte, which was absolutely perfect (10/10). My husband got a cold brew and said it was delicious and exactly to his liking. We also picked up a blueberry crumble bar and a cinnamon roll—both were heavenly and packed with flavor. As a bonus, I snagged a handmade knitted bumblebee made by a local artisan and sold at the shop. It was such a sweet, unique touch! This was truly the perfect little stop to kick off our afternoon beach date. We’ll definitely be coming back!

I am bolden away by this place. We flew into charleston on thanksgiving day & we were not expecting to find ANYTHING open and we found refuge. We walked in hoping to find maybe a small sandwich and were pleasantly surprised. We sat down at the bar and Jason took care of us as his own. He took the time to talk to us, get to know us, and the service was absolutely incredible!!!!!! I would 10/10 recommend.

As a retired coffee lover I’ve hit the jackpot by having the Refuge Coffee bar as a local option. Truly delicious coffee drinks and tasty locally made treats would be enough, but the barista staff take it to a whole nother level! Even on busy days you’re sure to get a nice smile

Matcha latte was basically milk - looked like it too. Didn’t taste the matcha at all.

I come here everyday and I’ve been a ton of coffee shops and this is simply my favorite. From the people to the quality of coffee and even the price!!! You won’t get a better coffee in Charleston and it just happens to be that it’s also the least expensive. Best place ever.
