We called ahead to let them know 8 of us would be coming down. Great service, great food, great beverages. Only one person had to send back their fish and chips a bit over cooked. My steak tips were perfect, wife’s backed haddock was awesome, the Reuben was very good actual corned beef not sliced deli. The chicken tenders were great also good size. I would recommend it again. Cheers
Great Local Gem! The staff was very accommodating and aware of food restrictions. There are plenty of Gluten Free and Vegetarian options. The French Onion soup was hot and flavourful, definitely recommend! The oysters were really good and came with a house vinaigrette and horseradish dip. Excited to explore more of their menu!
A Must-Visit in Newmarket: The Riverworks We keep telling ourselves to try new places, but we always end up right back at the Riverworks—and for good reason. This cozy, welcoming spot has become our go-to in Newmarket. Whether you’re plant-based or just looking for great food, there are always at least two solid vegetarian options on the menu. Just yesterday, John had the House-Made Black Bean & Corn Burger, topped with fried onion and herbed goat cheese. I went for the Gouda-Brie-Heirloom Tomato Grilled Cheese with fig preserve on sourdough. Paired with their perfectly crispy fries, it was tray-licking good—I even joked with the bartender/owner that it was “awful” as I pushed my crumb-free tray towards her, just to emphasize how delicious it was. I meant to ask for the chef to come out
Let's just say if you're looking for a spot with a good interior atmosphere this is worth a try. If you want food, look elsewhere. 3/4 meals were mid-level quality. The fish and chips had one of the worst Cole slaws I have ever tasted. The burned ends were barely edible. The barrio tacos were bland and dipping sauce was a tasteless mustard style. But.... Cool interior for a beer.
Got takeout(forced to order online since nobody was picking up the phone) Including fish and chips, reuben sandwiches, and clam chowder. It was okay except for these few things: the coleslaw was kinda like unseasoned fine grated cabbage(instead of nicely thin sliced) with thinned out mayo; the reubens had maybe one identifiable piece of sourkrout on them; half of the potato chips were either stale, or not fried enough, or both; and the clam chowder had the texture of being put in a food processor until gritty with some tiny chunks; and the clams themselves tasted either old, canned or frozen… too fishy.
