I chose this place because of how dog-friendly and family-friendly it is. It was easy to bring my baby's stroller and still sit inside. Service was fast and great! Food was really good. I loved the crab cake BLT and the sweet potato fries are so so good. Worth the side upgrade charge. My husband had the holy city burger without the bun, and on a bed of lettuce which was also really good. My friend had the smash burger without fries and she liked it! A great, chill place with good food!!

My wife and I had lunch at The Shelter Kitchen. There were very few people there on this Tuesday at noon, It took awhile for a hostess to appear, but she eventually came and said to sit anywhere. The BBQ chicken quesadillas and the Holy Mother Clucker Chicken Sandwich were generous-sized and delicious. The sweet potato fries were good, but the fried okra was disappointingly fried pickled okra, and we didn't eat much of it. I think that should be described as such on the menu. There were lots of TVs on, so this should be a happening place during football games this fall.

Shelter is by far one of my favorite spots in town. The atmosphere is fun, the staff make you feel like family, the food is delicious, and to top it off, they have a separate menu just for dogs which I appreciate (my dog especially loves the chicken and eggs). Ava was my waitress and she did a fantastic job. She was professional, super friendly, paid close attention to detail, and was quick to service our table, plus she gave me some good Christmas shopping tips - I wish I could leave a 6 star review! Overall, I had a great time at Shelter and highly recommend it to anyone. Keep up the great work!

On Wednesdays they have 8$ bottles of wine and 8$ smash burgers. The chef did a great job making a perfect juicy burger and crispy Fries. Ava was attentive and had great suggestions. The whole staff was friendly and professional. Can’t wait to come back.
