The SweetSide

I recently ordered 100+ servings of their Sweet Bites Bar (300+ individual pieces of dessert), and had a wonderful experience; would recommend! Since it was my first time planning a party of this size, I had several questions and Kara, the owner, was very helpful and quick with her email replies. I dropped by the shop to try some of their offerings and all the staff are super friendly (and the cakes are delicious and not overly sweet). All the guests enjoyed the beautiful desserts, from the cake pops to the berry cheesecake shooters!

Ordering was easy, great communication, the price was fair and delivery was on time! We ordered a birthday cake for our daughter who is staying at Ronald McDonald House of Charity while she is caring for her daughter in the NICU at Seattle Childrens Hospital. We asked if they wouldn't mind throwing in some extra goodies for the residents at Ronald McDonald House and they pulled through with a box of rice crispy treats! I ordered one of their signature, standard caramel truffle cakes but it arrived already bowing out and cracking on the sides. The inside was somewhat stale even after following the directions to warm up for at least 7 hours (received at 11am and ate at 8pm) on the counter in the box. We're really disappointed because the cake was $83 and we were really excited when we opened the box and the buttercream smelled so amazing and delicious. I'm not sure what happened but I hope this was a one off issue for them. We tried letting it sit overnight and the stale texture did not change. I don't think I'd take the chance on them again for a special occasion cake again.

I ordered a heart shaped cake with vintage piping and it was perfect for my thirtieth birthday party! It was so pretty and everything I envisioned, and was delicious! Everyone loved it and it was the star of the show! I got funfetti with chocolate ganache. When I ordered the cake I requested to pick up in Totem Lake, but there was a mixup and I had to go pickup in Seattle. No big deal, and I got a free slice of their eggnog cake for the inconvenience and it was also delicious! The girls working there were so nice and apologetic for the mixup. I will be ordering again for my next event!

I had custom macaroons made for my asking my bridesmaids to with me on my wedding day. They turned out beautifully and were delicious. I have a bridesmaid with a dietary restriction, and they accommodated her needs. When I asked for the ingredients just to be sure it was safe, they sent the ingredient list over. The one reason for a 4 star rating was there was a lot of emailing back and forth to really get the picture of what I wanted. I think being very clear from the beginning with what I wanted for the custom order would help. I also would have appreciated a notification to confirm the order the week of pickup. I had to reach out to confirm with the team to ensure my order was ready since I placed the order a month in advance to ensure enough time for them to make the macaroons. It j
