Thurgood Creamery

I tried Thurgood Creamery recently with some friends. The overall consensus was not great. I didn’t mind my ice cream, I ordered the pistachio ice cream. I thought it tasted good with a fair amount of actual pistachios in the ice cream. Two people in our group ordered the cookies and cream ice cream. They did not like it at all. Said it tasted oily to them. Another friend in our group ordered the cookie monster & said it also tasted oily. They had a lot of different flavors. I’m not sure what the chance of two different ice creams both tasting oily was. Our group said they wouldn’t be back overall. The line was really long when we got there but I felt like it went quickly. Seemed like a very popular place. I thought the prices vs portions were just okay. If you go, I would suggest the pist

Usually I have a positive experience at Thurgoods but today I was disappointed. I got three different one scoops and the amount was significantly less than I typically get. Usually the one scoop is quite generous and overflows at the top. Today mine didn’t even hit the top of the cup. The other individuals who had different workers had the typical overflowing scoop. Wish that every worker did the same generous amount everytime.

If I could give more than 5 stars I would. The ice cream is delicious and huge portions. The staff was so great and it’s a cute place. You have to try it!

So right off the bat, The ice cream and the portions are wonderful, let alone being a great value at that. I really enjoy the ice cream especially the ooey gooey butter cake. BUT I got the brownie sundae this time. I joked I wanted the diabetic disaster, little did I know the brownie was going to be a genuine disaster. The first brownie they pulled was so hard that I literally could not cut it with a spoon. I nearly launched my tray off the table. When I did manage to make a cut it exploded brownie everywhere. When I said to the staff that the brownie was exceedingly hard and impossible to cut they asked if I wanted it warmed up... No, I want it edible. The follow-on was warmed up, which made a marginally better, but it still was just a bad brownie that was /still/ stale. 10/10, do not

Pleasantly surprised! Very good ice cream and sorbet. Best Pistachio I think I've ever had. Honeycomb was darn good too. Generous servings, kind staff, nice atmosphere.
