Tikka Masala in Bethesda Row never disappoints! My daughter was home from college, and this was our very first stop after picking her up from the airport — it’s become our go-to comfort spot. We ordered the chicken tikka masala (always rich and flavorful), the lamb saag (perfectly spiced and tender), the cauliflower appetizer (crispy with just the right kick), and of course, warm garlic naan to go with everything. The food was absolutely delicious, as always. Cozy atmosphere, attentive service, and consistently great food make this place a favorite every time.
We ordered the food and requested plates. No plates were there. Even food was burdens. Chicken biryani was reheated and we have to trash the food and order it again.
Getting a quality lunch at Tikka Masala has become a gamble, and I'm tired of playing the game. I'm done. The Saturday lunch buffet today was shockingly bad. It was atrocious. The chicken was dry as sandpaper, the dishes were bland, the saag paneer looked a week old, the potatoes and zucchini were congealed slop. It was disgusting. I shouldn't have even tried it, based on appearance alone I should've just walked out. It seems like they don't care anymore. I don't understand what happened to place. A few months ago it seemed like they had turned a corner, but clearly I was mistaken. The quality is wildly inconsistent. I've had Wednesday lunches that blew my socks off. I've had some really terrific lunches. And then there's days like today. After my experience today, I just straight up won't
First time trying this restaurant. Really good food. The services was great. Would go again and try the rest of the menu. Tried Samosas & the Lamb signature plate( forgot what is called lol)
his review is mainly focused on the buffet experience. The restaurant itself is good and is one of the nicer-looking Indian restaurants in Bethesda. The restaurant was clean, the service was attentive, and everything seemed fine—until the food was brought out. The buffet was a letdown with very limited choices. Most of the food tasted unremarkable, with a lot of dependence on plain tomato paste and spices. Being an Indian, I was hoping for authentic flavors, but the food tasted like it didn't take the flight from India at all. Chicken 65 was tasty but far too oily. Palak paneer was soft but had no taste, and chickpeas lacked any depth of flavor. On the brighter side, butter chicken was cooked to perfection and was a highlight. I also tried the Kashmiri kofta, and I must say, it's one of
