TO SOC CHON 토속촌

I don't need a fancy restaurant to have good food. The atmosphere is good enough for my standards. Next the food, I gave it the rating that I did because the appetizers were mediocre. We had the steam dumplings. This was the bulgogi bibigo dumplings used as an appetizers. The seafood pancake was OK. Minimum amount seafood and more pancake. Service--very attentive. Moving on the soups. I ordered the Yukgaejang and my husband ordered the seafood soon dubu. Now, if you come here for the soup/stews (the specific ones I mentioned) it worth visiting. I will come back just for the soups. Definitely more of the traditional flavors that I enjoyed. Definitely a place to try if your into more of the authentic Korean style.

Don’t let the dates exterior deter you from coming in and enjoying some delicious Korean flavors. Great spice and well developed jigae. This location stands all on its own - south of I-10 which is the other side of Katy Asian Town (north of I-10). Service was friendly. Good came out hot and fresh. Large parking lot - you can park in the rear of the restaurant. I recommend and will come back!

Twice in two weeks I’ve been here since trying it out the first time! And tbh when you see Koreans dining there, you know it’s gonna be bomb! And right after trying the banchans after sitting down, I knew the rest of the food was gonna be amazing. The spicy cold noodle soup was delicious and refreshing, but be sure to go during the day.And the seafood haemul soondubu had a lot of flavor to it, with a variety of seafood! Although we didn’t try the LA galbi, someone had ordered it nearby and it just smelled amazing. The portions are pretty good for the price. The service is awesome too! It can be a bit cold in there though, so bring a jacket!

Absolutely worth the drive! A friend recommended TO SOC CHON 토속촌 and told me to try the Gamja Tang — and wow, they weren’t wrong. It came out in a beautiful, boiling hot pot, full of flavor but not too overpowering. The pork neck is incredibly tender — make sure to break the bones to get every last bite of meat! The side dishes were all great, but I especially loved the pickled jalapeños and cucumbers — a perfect complement to the rich soup. I also ordered the galbi which was super flavorful and cooked just right. Service was friendly and efficient, and the place has plenty of seating, so it’s great for groups too. Next time I’m definitely coming back to try the Korean sausage and a few of their other dishes. So freaking good — highly recommend!

I’ve only tried the soups here so far, and they’re delicious! The flavors are deep and rich. I ordered the ox bone soup and the spicy shredded beef soup (both had some beef and clear noodles). I do wish there was a bit more meat, but the flavor totally made up for it. The spicy shredded beef soup was my favorite since it was super flavorful and comforting. A friend told me the pork neck bone soup here is amazing, so that’s definitely next on my list. They serve only three kinds of banchan, but they’re all really tasty. Not too sour, nicely seasoned, and full of flavor. Plus, they’re generous with refills if you ask!
