This was the first place we ate from upon arriving back in town. Coming from the Chicago area, we were visiting my dad's siblings who's sister lives in town and younger brother in Coaldale. These are a couple of things I look forward to when visiting the area, cheesesteaks & hoagies. Although there are many venues in the area that make cheesesteaks & hoagies, Tommy's usually comes to mind for my old man. This is first time in 14 years I've been back here and the very first time for my wife & kids visiting the state. My wife was born & raised in Honduras so seeing all the mountains made her feel at home and she enjoyed good ol' PA grub. They do well here and sadly not sure when we'll be back. Arrived back home just over a week ago and already miss being there. Hope for continued boomin'
A local favorite for subs and pizza. The staff are friendly and helpful. Noteworthy is the fact they don't take cards. Cash or check only, so come prepared for payment. The bread used for the subs is some of the best I've ever had. Very much worth a visit!
We got two subs, one was just ok, the other sub was a complete disaster. They made an Italian sub on cold cut roll, open on both sides, so hard to eat because everything was sliding out everywhere. Ordered was botched also. Asked for extra mayo, got almost none. Asked for no onions, got no onions and no lettuce. Lunch meat on both subs was 1/4” thick. I can understand a mistake for a large order, but to completely screw up one out of two subs isn’t acceptable. We walked in and ordered for takeout, sat at counter and waited. So we were right there! If there was a question about our order, they could’ve asked. That was the second time we were there, that was our last.
Drove past here dozens of times and never stopped - glad I did. Had the Santa Fe turkey and bacon. Sandwich is incredible, the bread is better. Also got some fried apps, which were also on point. Service was stellar. Highly recommend this place, and compliments to the staff.
Great sub shop! Tommy's did not disappoint. I keep forgetting how big and filling these subs really are. I like the Italian Deluxe.
