Customer Reviews
I love this place. I found it many years ago when visiting Carmel and I love going back there. We took aday trip and this was my immediate destination. Large portions of good tasting food and very reasonable prices. I always get their eggplant and some chicken. Their eggplant is super delicious. Their lunch specials come with soup, rice, Chow mean and crispy noodle.
We visited Tommy’s Wok in Carmel‑by‑the‑Sea during winter break and came for the lunch specials. It’s a small place, and you need to sign up at the front before getting seated. The lunch specials are pretty good and reasonably priced, especially for this area. There were only two servers working: a younger woman handling cleanup and table setup, and a senior woman taking orders and serving food. The workflow felt a bit unorganized — it would be smoother if they backed each other up. Overall, the lunch specials were solid and a good value here.
The is the best Chinese Food I have had in a long time. Based on the reviews I was expecting it to be good, but it was amazing! We never think to go out for Chinese food, but now we will. The Pu Pu Platter was a hit. Everyone loved it. The presentation was impressive and the food was even better. Everyone loved what they got and that is rare with this group. The portions were big. Every dish had a generous amount of meat. The pork fried rice even had huge chunks of pork that were delicious. The potstickers were cooked exactly how I like them, a little crispy on the bottom and chewy on the top. The pork filling was delicious. I was impressed with the size and quantity of Prawns in the Kung Pao Prawn dish. Also, one do the most flavorful and rich Kung Pao sauces I’ve ever tasted. I found mys
Overall, I had a good experience here. The crab rangoons were definitely the highlight ,crispy, flavorful, and honestly some of the better ones I’ve had in a while. The fried rice was on the blander side for my taste, but the rest of the food was solid and fresh. Service was quick, and the atmosphere felt relaxed and welcoming. I’d come back again, especially for the appetizers.
We stopped here for dinner on our first night in Carmel. It’s a small place so there was a bit of a queue, but it was well worth the wait. The food was absolutely delicious and the portions are very generous ( I'm english, so would have been happy with half the portion size). The staff were super friendly and did an excellent job serving everyone despite how busy it was. Would definitely recommend and they do take out.
