Toritos Fresh Mex

I honestly really enjoyed this place. We got the Quesa-Tacos with birria, the El Hippie burrito with fries, and a esquite 🌽 with a large and medium fountain drink. The total wasn’t bad and we got a lot of food. I highly recommend it. The tortillas for the quesa-tacos were homemade and not too salty like other places. The service was good and wait time was quick for lunch time on a Saturday.

This place is tucked between a gas station and family dollar. I pulled up because there is always a line at the window. They didn’t have a menu posted so I had to ask for one. I got two street tacos (chicken). Like some of the other reviews, the price is a little high, but you see the size of these two tacos. Plus, the food came with chips and salsa. No one is mentioning that part. I would try more things from the menu. There isn’t seating except some picnic tables outside. I am not a regular customer but I have been here several times. I feel like it’s hit or miss; sometimes, when I go the food is really good other times I feel like it is not. I continue to go here because the location is super convenient. I ordered street tacos tonight and the corn tortillas were not roasted at all. They were hard and breaking apart the way the ones you buy in a pack at the grocery store are prior to cooking them. That being said I have previously had street tacos there and they were great. The inconsistency is a deal breaker for me.

I recently tried this place since it’s pretty close to my house, and I was excited to check it out. I ordered the American burrito, which was about $15. It came with a small handful of chips and a generous portion of salsa. On the first bite, the burrito was packed with rice and beans. A few bites later, I finally got to the chicken—it was pretty good, but I wish there had been a bit more chicken and less rice and beans for better balance. To be fair, this is authentic Mexican food, so maybe I’m just not used to how traditional burritos are made 🤷‍♀️. The flavors were decent overall. While some people have mentioned the price being a bit steep, I understand that restaurants have significant costs to cover, especially these days. It’s not cheap to maintain quality and keep the lights on.

Sweet girl that works there. Her name is Mckenna. She walked me through the menu. She recommended a few items to me, I ended up getting “Arroz Loco”. Food was amazing. Service was amazing! 10/10! I will be back!
