Toscana Restaurant

I could look post the outdated, sticky, dirty booth I was sitting in if the food had been great or even good. The server, hostess, bartender was very friendly and attentive, but that is where the good news ends. The place was empty except for one other couple at 6PM on a Saturday night. There were no customers at the bar despite reasonable cocktail prices. We ordered the eggplant rollotini, the spaghetti and meatballs and the chicken marsala. All were lacking any kind of seasoning, the only dish with any flavor at all was the chicken. The meatballs were tough and overcooked. The marinara was bland. The menu overall is a bit disappointing. Been meaning to try this place for years and wish I hadn’t. Ordered take out and my wife went to pick it up. Took 10-15 minutes longer than it was supposed to even though my wife was literally the only person in the restaurant. The arancini was soggy and whatever was in the middle was like warm. The lasagna bolognese was $24 and was the worst pasta I’ve ever had. Also, $24? We make pasta all the time and it’s incredibly cheap to make, so we were expecting amazing lasagna. There weren’t even sides, no bread, nothing. Just $24 for a slice of mushy lasagna. There were no distinguishable lasagna noodles, so I’m guessing they were over cooked to hell. It was a pile of like warm mush with a weird metallic taste to it. And no, it didn’t get cold in the car, we live a couple hundred yards away. $5

Easily the most disappointing restaurant I've been to in years. In order of events, we got bread. It was fine, but we were not informed until after we got the check that it was $0.50/roll. The food was edible, but not worth traveling for. Our server, Dianne, was pretty good. Things were a solid 3 stars right up until we got our desert. The 'Chocolate Cake' was two pieces of unfrosted cake that fell apart if you looked at them. The kicker: $12 each. The check came, and there was a $3 'catering' charge. We ate in the restaurant. While we were filling out the check and eating desert, though, the cook shut the lights off on us. I can't pay the check if I can't see. For a restaurant that we've been meaning to try for years, we wish we hadn't.

One of the best homemade dinners I've had in a very long time. The owner, who is the main chef there, was also our waitress and she did her best to make us want to go back. And we definitely will!!! We ate broccoli Alfredo fettuccine pasta and chicken marsala, both if them deliciously A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!! Definitely recommend this place!

Absolute must try, food and service on point and Marta was as good as good can get. To start were house made rolls with an amazing dipping oil that words can't describe. Then came the Caprese salad, the house ensalata and damn they were good. Homemade mozzarella was creamy and decadent with a balsamic dressing that was heaven. Mine the greens were fresh with a lot of shallots and a house vinaigrette that was on point. Main courses were Chix Picatta, tenderlish chix with perfect pasta and a perfect sauce. My sweet sausage pizza sprinkled with red pepper flakes was one on the best pizzas I've had, eva. You can taste the freshness in everything. Again Marta was friendly and engaging, this is a must try for Italian. We will be back..
