Trapper's Smokehouse

Overpriced, super long line, and poor quality food. My family visited busch garden over Christmas holidays. We heard good things about this place and saved it for Christmas dinner. We got to the place around 4:30 and there was already a long line. It took us more than 45 mins to get food. We ordered ribs and chicken platter. As you can imagine, it has theme park premium and over-priced for a few pieces of chicken and ribs with two sides. There was heated seating area next to the restaurant and we were able to find seats, thankfully. It is not a sit down restaurant and there is no such thing as service. We visited on a Saturday in late November 2025 during Christmas Town. We had a 4 all day dining passes and it was totally worth it based on the price of these entrees. We order 2 Trapper's smokehouse samplers, a st. louis style bbq ribs and a salmon platter. The trapper's smokehouse samplers were great. You get 2 slices of brisket, 2 ribs and a chicken thigh. You also get a large roll and fries that all counts as the platter so the meal plan allows a side or dessert as well. We decided on fried pickle spears and soda. We were saving this meal for last, having snacked around the park all day with the dining plan. When I saw the menu prices, I was SHOCKED. What we paid for the all day dining plan was nearly the cost of the sampler platter! I feel terrible for parents trying to feed their families here, it would cost well over $100 and not be worth it. Watching food be served while in line, I decided to choose a simple BBQ sandwich. To my dismay, the meat was not high quality and surprisingly had very little flavor. The serving stations were a mess, with food on the outside of the small cups (see photos) and the area behind the line was a kitchen nightmare. But we were hungry, thirsty and on our way out. None of the drink machines had any ice, and it took me a long time to get an employee's attention

Brisket was cold, greenbeens was not cooked thoroughly, ribs was decent, chicken a bit dry,salmon lack flavor not unless you ask for more honey glaze. Do not eat the apple cobbler it will give you acid reflux. The only thing warm was the fries and mozzarella sticks.

The exterior is nicely done and we had high expectations. The decor looks like a really decent barbecue place but the food is pretty bland. Not a smoked flavor at all, more like oven cooked with a little sauce. The service was okay but not really friendly. The French fries were good.
