when i tell you this food was so good that i couldn’t stop eating until it came back up into my mouth, i MEAN it!! i got the jackfruit catfish and it had me levitating while i was eating it. don’t even get me started on the ranch and the mac and cheese. the kind woman taking our order was real helpful and whoever is running the aux can get it 😭😭 . the food is a little on the spender side, but you’re eating plant based so you should know what you’re dealing with. anyways as im writing this my stomach is making some bubbling noises rn, and its making me a little nervous but atleast i got some good food inside of me. would go again
I adore this restaurant so much. My favorites are the fried chick'n sandwich and the loaded fries. Louis and Angel were lovely, and it was so good to chat with them about the vegan food scene in the Twin Cities. The location cannot be beat. I rode my bike on the Midtown Greenway then Bryant then a few blocks on Lake (most dicey part) to arrive. There were convenient bike racks right in front, and the restaurant has gorgeous open windows where you can people watch (and frown at all the drivers deciding to ride in the bus only lane). I can't wait to go back!
The vegan chicken salad was pretty good — a bit over-fried but very tasty. Service was fast and the restaurant environment was very quiet and relaxing. The parking nearby was very inexpensive, too, which was a nice plus.
Stopped by Trio for dinner with friends while we were in town for a conference, and I’m glad that we did! I was drawn to this spot because it’s Black-owned and full of character—and it didn’t disappoint. The space has a cool, local vibe that feels authentic and inviting. They also have local art hanging on all the walls, which customers can purchase if they like which adds to it's welcoming atmosphere. I’m not vegan, but I couldn’t resist trying the mac and cheese since it’s my favorite dish and I really enjoyed it! The owner himself was our server, and he was incredibly warm and welcoming. He took time to share the history of the restaurant, his aspirations, and his passion for its future, which made the experience even more special. He even took pictures with us before we left. The ser
Have been meaning to try Trio for years and finally decided to order takeout for lunch today. I wasn’t disappointed! Such comforting and hearty food on this rainy food. I loved the jackfruit ribs. So succulent! The mac and cheese was creamy and delightful. Wish it had a bit more flavor though. The cornbread was moist and savory. The yams were sweet and tender. I devoured my meal, and I’ll be back for more!
