Tropical Delight

Tropical Delight is a great Jamaican spot when you want bold, home-style flavors and a satisfying plate. The jerk had a nice kick and smoky flavor, the rice and peas were seasoned well, and everything tasted fresh and filling. Portions are generous for the price, and it feels like the kind of place where the food is the main priority. Service was friendly and moved at a steady pace, even with a crowd. Overall, a solid choice if you’re craving Jamaican comfort food with real flavor.

I am APPALLED by the "curry" chicken I just received. It was fried chicken rolled around in curry. Did not even taste remotely like curry, over seasoned rice. And after leaving it, it smelled like dried pee. I have supported this restaurant for a long time but I will never again.

Ordered the oxtails. It had a different taste from other Jamaican restaurants I've ordered from but it was still delicious. Wish the cabbage wasn't overcooked, it was mushy. Hope it's cooked better next time I visit.

I recently moved here and was in search of a good Jamaican food spot. I’ve been here twice & I’ll be back. The owners are always pleasant & friendly. I got the oxtail plate the first time and I wasn’t impressed (I don’t like the sauce the oxtails are in and they also put it on the rice so I didn’t care for that either) but the jerk chicken plate was divine. The macaroni is really good too. 9/10 definitely recommend!

We were traveling through Ocala and decided to stop at Tropical Delight, and we are so glad we did! The food was absolutely incredible. I ordered the medium jerk chicken plate, and it was packed with flavor, perfectly seasoned and cooked just right. I’m already planning to get it again the next time I’m in town! My cousin got the large oxtails plate and couldn’t stop raving about how amazing it was. Every bite was seasoned to the T! We enjoyed the food so much that we ended up going back before leaving town to pick up more meals to take home for our families. Tropical Delight truly lives up to its name, delicious, flavorful, and worth the stop. Highly recommend!
