Umi Sushi

Fresh sushi! I feel the fish to rice ratio on the nigiri is perfect, with not too much rice! I went with the Premium option for AYCE, for only $10 more. I feel it was well worth it!

Went here last night for my birthday with my wife, son, and daughter, we all got the “all you can eat” sushi. I ate 36 pieces of the David’s Rainbow Roll which was amazing, the rice was soft, everyone enjoyed their food. But the service was incredibly bad. Every time the waitress brought us new sushi, someone’s sushi order would be incorrect. At one point we were brought a different table’s sushi order, but I enjoyed the four Lion King rolls I got instead. The food is awesome, but they need to hire at least one other sushi chef and not have their waitstaff handling literally five tables at once. I still left a good tip because it wasn’t the waitress’ fault, but it doesn’t seem like they could keep up with orders.

Staff were pleasant and quick. Unfortunately the ramen we ordered was awful. The pork / Chashu was old, dry; tasted like it sat in the refrigerator for a few days before they microwaved it and put it in the bowl. The broth on both the tonkotsu and miso tasted bad--like it was made with unclean water. The naruto / fish cakes were slimy. Just can't recommend every going to this place for ramen. maybe the sushi is okay? 2 stars because they at least gave us a small discount after we expressed our frustrations with the food.

First time here, we had the ayce, service was fine and we got checked in on plenty for additional orders. Rice was kind of sticky and tough not very soft and while the first course of orders were fine additional orders started to degrade, at one point The smoked salmon nigiri was so dang salty it was jarring and nearly inedible. I also had the miso soup, the first order was great but the second also seemed to be heavily salted for some reason. Also every nigiri dish served came with slices of lemon which overpowered whatever they touched.

One of my favorite AYCE spots in Sacramento for nigiri. They have perfect cuts of salmon EVERY SINGLE TIME. This is THE spot. Very little rice on each piece of nigiri which is hard to find these days. The fish is always fresh and appealing. The service is unmatched, they are always coming around to check on you, never pushy, always kind and welcoming. I come here every week and have never had a remotely bad experience. The owner is really nice as well and will work alongside his staff. Their premium menu is definitely worth trying as well, offering sashimi and other limited premium items. This is a must go to spot for all AYCE lovers!!!
