Uncle Pete's Pizza

Love this place. One of the best pizzas in Chicagoland and always reliably good. Love their extra thin or double dough. Real ingredients (not canned) and notably fresh sausage. The owner Jay also was also very accommodating and generous for our special occasion this past summer. My favorite pizza around.

Ordered a pan pizza, got a deep dish. Ordered extra sauce, got a ton extra, way too much. Asked for it to be pulled early and do not overcook, was overdone and bottom and crust was hard as a rock. Couldn't eat it so it got tossed. Sad because this was not the first time but it's now the last that we try to get a decent pizza here.

I ordered from work so that I could pickup on my way home. I entered that I had a coupon on my order. I left the menu at work with the coupon as it's a work menu. The clerk would not honor the coupon because I did not have it in hand. I told her I obviously know of the coupon im not using this one that's sitting here on the counter (they give you one with the pizza). She refused to give me the discount which left a complete bad taste in my mouth for the pizza.

We were visiting the town for an event and stopped by because I noticed this hole on the wall type of place when I drove by last time I was in town and thought it must be amazing to be able to survive for this long. This quaint place looked very interesting with a bunch of b/w photos of Einstein next to young Jack Nicholson and other celebrities. Unfortunately, the overpriced pizza tastes ok but it's not what we had hoped for.

Uncle Pete's has one of the most delicious pizza I've had. They are generous with their toppings and sauce. We ordered online for pickup and they had it ready right when we walked in at the estimated time they gave us. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. I will be coming back for more pizza!
