Uncle Shug's Chicken Barn

Uncle Shug's pretty laid back. You don't get the hustle and bustle of a BiG Chain chicken eatery. The chicken deals weren't much of a deal. I ordered to 4 piece meals. This way I could get the pieces of chicken I wanted. All short thighs! Order wisely. The service was wonderful. The young lady on the register was friendly and helpful. Now the chicken! It was soooo darn good, hot and fresh I ate it all before taking pictures of it. I tell you: Talkn bout some good golden crispy fried chicken. You can't go wrong here. Dine in or take out.

I walked in and I was told it would be 15 minutes before I could get food. That didn’t bother me. It only confirmed my food would be fresh; however, I didn’t want to be inside waiting so I walked out and went through the drive-thru. I ordered my food, patiently waited in line, and then received it hot & fresh after 15 minutes. I was pleased. The fried chicken was hot/fresh, crispy, and flavorful. The little roll that came with it was so good. Also hot & fresh. I’d come back just for some fresh rolls. The Mac & cheese was tasty too. No complaints. I’d wait 30 minutes for fresh/tasty food any day.

Waited a good 20 mins at the drive thru, that was really no problem. We got the food and opened it up to the most burnt and crispy fries. Not soft at all, it was hard, tried one and it crumbled, there was just about no potato left in it. If i’m waiting 20 mins at least give me fresh fried. Burger was good, tenders and mac and cheese were fine too.

Stopped for a quick lunch, had tenders and potato salad. I liked the breading on the tenders, light and crunchy. Potato salad was good.

It seems as if every time I come through (this time it was around 5:15 p.m.) they've got to cook drumsticks! Then today the chicken looks like it's been sitting there for a while and the fries look just horrible!!! Yet I had already paid, my kids were really hungry, and I was going to hurry so lesson learned I guess.
