Van Leeuwen Ice Cream

My family and I reached out to Van Leeuwen Jersey City to see if we could have a private party for our 3 year old. As far as we knew, Van Leeuwen didn't do private parties, but it was worth a shot! We wanted something really close and chill and would work for 15-20 local 3 yr olds and their parents. We worked out an agreement with the store manager Allen, who agreed to staff his store for an ice cream party from 11-1 on a Saturday in November. TLDR - It was a blast! With Dorithy and Cindy behind the counter, all of our guests got whatever they wanted to their heart's desire. The party shifted between the store interior and the sidewalk tables outside. you must try their espresso fudge brownie which has coffee ice cream as their base. there’s fudge swirls, chocolate chips and brownie bits in it. definitely on the sweeter side but I loved it! the worker was super kind and was patient as I was trying multiple flavors to see which one I liked the most

They give you time to taste different options and they have really interesting flavors. Though a bit pricey, the scoops are huge! Around $8 - $11 depending on the number of scoops. You can get either 1, 2 or 3 scoops in one bowl. We tried - 1. Dark Chocolate Fudge Brownie (A little too sweet) 2. Peanut Butter Brownie Honeycomb (Really good, strong Peanut Butter flavor) 3. Sicilian Pistachio (Would've liked a little more Pistachio flavor) 4. Italian Hazelnut (Seasonal flavor, was pretty good if you like Hazelnut)

Stopped by after dinner nearby and tried the Blue Jasmine Passion Fruit Swirl—and WOW, it blew my taste buds away! Such a unique and perfect balance between sweet and tangy. The passion fruit flavor is bright, tropical, and slightly tart—just amazing. I’ve already come back about four times to different locations just for this flavor! I also tried these: • White Chocolate Raspberry Brownie • Cookies & Cream • Black Cherry Chip They were good, but not unforgettable—nothing I’d go out of my way for. Small tip: if you want two scoops, ask for them in one cup—it’s about $8. If you get two scoops in separate cups, it’s around $15. Don’t make my mistake! 😂😅
