Customer Reviews
I frequent Velvet Taco because I think they have truly unique and delicious tacos. I had never been to the location in hobby before, but it's a nice little oasis as you wait for your flight You can either dine in and sit at the bar, or you can go through the Togo line. The menus are shown at the entrance and on the wall inside. You can order tacos, bowls, sides, and other starters. They also have beer on tap, margaritas, etc The staff were friendly and helpful. My meal arrived incredibly fast. I will say the bartender was a little distracted and I didn't get my beer until a bit after the food arrived when it should have probably arrived first. I also witnessed him add salt to a margarita when a customer specifically asked for no salt The prices aren't much higher here than at their norm
The food was good. I got the chicken tikka taco after a long morning of flying. Toni was so nice and accommodating. The service was quick, of good quality, and friendly. I had little sleep so I wasn’t the most talkative, however he engaged well with all of the customers and was polite.
Well it's in the airport but you know it was not bad. I got a 2 taco combo with queso and chips who's was like 16 bucks so good deal. The tacos where huge. I got a steak on and a shrimp one. Both were delicious. The frozen margarita was pretty good as well. The only thing was I felt there was way too much pico, corn ect. It kind of overwhelmed the meat in the taco. Over all I will probably dine her next time I am flying out of hobby
Khari- the to go server is the reason for my review. He lacked customer service and etiquette. I felt like a bother, rushed and dismissed when I had questions about the menu as this is my first time there. He was kind of condescending when answering my questions. Next issue, I ordered two separate tacos. One beef and one shrimp but they were placed in the same container in which it's a problem because I'm a pescartian. I asked for a separate container and he tossed it on the counter and walked away. I literally felt like a bother from start to finish. Certain ppl received greetings, I was not one. The sweet chile shrimp is good.
All the peeps there are super friendly and make you feel welcomed. Great food: I had the brisket taco and the chimichurri steak taco, and their were delish!). Shoutout to Angel at the bar! Angel is actually multitasking bar drinks and food from the kitchen.! He was awesome, very attentive, and provided wonderful service. Thanks, Angel!"
