The food was really disappointing. Everything we ate was lacking salt and bland. I almost couldn’t get through the squash pasta because it was just plain unseasoned squash purée, tasted like baby food. The top layer had a bit more flavor with some Parmesan and balsamic but still just really bland. The cabbage had good texture and decent char but again needed more salt and/or miso, it was just severely underseasoned. I asked for salt and pepper for the pasta, they gave the tiniest half teaspoon of each and it wasn’t close to enough the fix the dish and make it edible. My mocktail wasn’t good either, they put way too much lime clearly just lacking skill, it was so puckering. The only good item was the cheesecake but it was so tiny, literally a two bite dessert but priced like a full slice.
I’m never one for absolutes, but Vendemmia has the best tasting menu in Seattle. From portion sizes to variety to to-go boxes packed in between courses; we struck a goldmine. We tried booking for Valentine’s, and even a month beforehand we found ourselves stonewalled. Bookings are likely not as competitive during non- Holiday season. From protein to veggies drizzled in white chocolate to wagyu, each course beautifully complimented the other. They are portioned to perfection- we never felt too stuffed nor in need of a supplement. As a wine snob, I was impressed. I don’t even like Chardonnay, but I liked their pairing. Happy Dining to all!
Food was just okay, but definitely not worth the price. On top of the already expensive a la carte price, the surcharge is insane. 22% service charge added to all orders. If I knew that prior I wouldn't have chose this restaurant. And I think that could partially explain the empty restaurant. While other highly rated restaurants in the city were packed, this only had two or three parties dining.
$32 for 6 oysters? in this economy?? used to be a regular here because the food and service were consistently great. However, I was disappointed to find they now automatically add a 22% gratuity to the bill. While I’m happy to tip for good service, forcing such a high percentage is a poor business practice—especially on top of already premium prices. Out of principle, I won't be returning until their policy changes.
The food was definitely very incredible and the service was top notch. I love the vibe of the place. It was very classy and modern and I heard that the chef’s wife is a baker so the desserts were fantastic. Would revisit this charming italian restaurant!
