Our first experience with Vietnamese cuisine. We came in at 4pm so it wasn’t busy. Modern style music. Nice atmosphere. Very authentic. The menu has a lot of options. Try A-05 rolls as an appetizer. We had to ask about various sauces and how to eat the never tried before dishes. We got our appetizer within 5 minutes. And food - 10 minutes later. Very fast. We got chicken Pho and grilled shrimp vermicelli. Lots of greens added: cucumbers, cilantro, green onions, lettuce - in all dishes. We enjoyed our experience.
Wonderful atmosphere. Pleasant staff. Great plating and exceptionally tasting food. I could have ordered just the egg rolls. They were flaky and crunchy outside, so delicious inside. I added some fish sauce to taste. It changes the foods slightly, making it spicy and sweet. I suggest only adding it little by little to every bite. The seasoning was excellent. No added soy sauce or salt was needed. Not too salty, either. The dish has a variety of different flavors. I would highly recommend visiting Viet Foods @ The Eden Center. I hope to visit again soon.
Would probably give it 4.5 stars but willing to round up. The really liked the ice coffee and the rice combo with the broken rice which I was really surprised at how good the rice was. The clay pot fish was also surprisingly not as good as it’s too salty and the bo bun hue I thought was average. Overall a positive experience. I also got the yogurt at the end which is also really liked.
The portions are ginormous here compared to its neighboring restaurants. It’s definitely more focused on quantity vs quality since the flavors are good but not great. I tried the grilled pork and egg rolls at both this place and the restaurant next door (Huang Viet) and I would have to say it tastes better at the latter, the big drawback is Huang Viet only accepts cash whereas Vietfoods accepts credit cards. The service here is also better.
This is my go-to spot for Bun Bo Hue! I developed a shrimp allergy and had to stop eating BBH (my favorite) bc it has shrimp paste in the broth usually. This place puts the paste on the side for you to add separately only if you want! Always comes with authentic veggie platter that isn't just bean sprouts and basil and they give you fresh chilies for extra spice!
