Virraaj Indian Cuisine

We've been to a lot of Indian restaurants, and this was by far the best we've ever had. The food, the mood, the service, it was all amazing! We even got desert afterwards (we barely ever go from desert after the main course).

We were visiting Bethesda during the winter storms and wanted some comforting Indian food, but it was cold and dark out. Called the restaurant and they prepared our food just as we wanted, incorporating our dietary preferences and restrictions. And they delivered to our hotel, didn't need to deal with any delivery services etc. The owner is a kind, sweet gentleman and we felt like we were being taken care of by family. Highly recommend. And they also have a wonderful North Indian specialty called Sarson Ka Saag and Makki ki Roti, which is a mustard greens dish served with Indian corn flatbread. Absolutely a treat and only available during the winters.

What a great place! We went there seeing nice reviews and did not regret it. We ordered Amritsari fish for a starter just to taste sth different that usual pakora we take, and it was fresh and delicious. My husband than took cardamom gosht as he is a huge fan of goat and he really enjoyed it - the meat was tender and sauce mild but full of flavor. I ordered paneer makhan masala and it was very tasty as well. Ambience and service was top notch as well - we will definitely be back!

What a special place. The food is fresh and light. Not oily or overwrought. I had the vegetarian butter chicken, which was bright and flavorful. The cocktails are perfectly balanced and beautifully presented. Highly recommend. They grind their own spices and the owner was there the night that my wife and I dined. He shared with us his love of food and I tried his favorite cocktail, which was delicious.

SO GOOD! Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. The service was quick and everyone was so sweet and friendly. The owner even came over to us and suggested some of the best dishes for us to try and they were amazing. Everything from the decor to the menu and names of the dishes were thoughtful and intentional. The atmosphere was wonderful along with the food and they had soft Bollywood music playing to set the tone. Definitely recommend and will be going here again! Thank you for such a lovely night!
