Waldo's Restaurant

A great place to listen to live music, socialize and nibble on appetizers and share a dish. We had Manhattan Chowder which was the best dish we ordered. Both of our meals were just ok. Not a lot of flavor. The Cajun surf and turf Hubs ordered was bland which I know is probably normal for such a large crowd. He loved the loaded baked potato. My southwest bowl was a lot of rice, minimal black beans and shrimp, tomato’s which were ok- a little bland. This place is cool and on the National registry, and glad we went. The band try bat night was awesome. We would return for the party and it looks like many enjoy the establishment! Also the lodges (on-site Look very rustic and nice).

Great oceanfront restaurant with an old west feel. We were lucky enough to get a table right next to the beach. Ordered the “sampler” appetizer and 6 beers for the 3 of us…. The conch fritters and Shrimp were great but then we were left with deep fried mozzarella filets which no one wanted. Order the Coconut Shimp and the Conch Fritters- skip the “combo” Great place - good service and always busy.

On the main Drag of Vero is Ocean Ave, here youll find good breakfast lunch and dinner dining. Behind the historic Driftwood Resort, you have Waldos Restaurant. The Driftwood is a beautifully rustic resort. Some say its even haunted (an awesome reason to book 1 or multiple rooms). As soon as you you walk, its like going into an old port after you've been at sea for weeks. You are seated either outside or in (You're choice), the outside has a pool,beach access, 2 bars, lounge chairs etc. We heard a great local country/western band last night. As youll see the pics and video I post of all they offer. The service staff are wonderful, very attentive and have knowledge of the over 100 year old history. They have anything for everyone. This is one of our favorite restaurants in Vero Beach; very laid-back and always a fun experience. The waiters/servers are all very professional, easy to talk to and attentive. The food is excellent; a great selection. Their key lime pie as a desert was very good. If you have a chance, please eat at this restaurant; you will not be disappointed.

We visited on a Saturday and it was pretty busy. We sat outside to have a view of the ocean. There was live music and it is loud so be warned if you’re wanting to sit and talk. This was mostly bar type food not real seafood. We were very disappointed. The shrimp was way overcooked and all the seafood was frozen and reheated not fresh like we usually expect when dining on the beach. This is a place to do a lot of drinking then eat because after a few drinks you think the food is good. Way overpriced and a very disappointing meal.
