Wax Wings Brewing Company

Went here today about 1 pm. We were the first people in so, I couldn’t get a true sense of the atmosphere. If you like darts, there are 6 dartboards. There wasn’t a huge selection, maybe 12 beers and 50% + an IPA. I do like those but not sure the brewery is a top brewery in Michigan which I read. It was decent at best.

Wax Wings has had some really nice beers and a welcoming atmosphere during each of my visits so far. The staff was friendly, and both beers I tried tasted great. Kalamazoo’s Finest is a really tasty, malty session beer with a good balance of flavors. In my opinion, this remains one of Kalamazoo’s best breweries over the years.

One of my two favorite breweries in Kalamazoo, and one of my favorites in all of Michigan! So far, I have made one visit. I drove about two hours on a random Saturday, just to go there. It was well worth the trip, and the first thing I thought to myself was how do I move this place closer to my house? Every beer I tried was not only fantastic, but true to style, from New England IPAs to American Wild ales to Sours. Excellent presentation too. I rarely hand out five stars, but this one was relatively easy for me. I am definitely coming back as soon as possible. I would love to meet the brewer.

Great barrel aged beers and big selection of good IPAs. Every time I go they have multiple beers I haven't tried. They don't have food, but the Mexican place two doors down will bring their food in and they often have food trucks. No flights, but they do half pours.

Nice little brewery on the end of a strip mall. No patio and children allowed, two things that lower the rating for me. They have a food truck most days. Beer is good but definitely not the best in Michigan. Worth a visit.
