Weatherford Police Department

I have zero trust in this department after repeated experiences. Tonight at Holland Lake Park (12:15 AM), I was walking and playing Pokemon Go—something I've done peacefully for years. No gates, no signs saying the park was closed. An officer waited by my car, ID'd me, and ran warrants. I was polite and cooperative. A year and a half ago, another officer stopped me and a friend near the courthouse, falsely accused us of jaywalking (we had the walk signal), and ran our names for warrants then too. Both times: zero crime, zero disturbance, zero reason for contact. If the department spent half as much energy on real crime as they do on hassling residents who are just existing, this town might actually feel safe.

Very unprofessional Police Department. They will break the law and violate your constitutional rights while claiming they are enforcing the law. Try to avoid dealing with this police department at all costs. They are unprofessional and very disrespectful. Their police officers don’t act like public servants and don’t protect and serve the public. They are more likely to arrest you than help you.

I locked my keys in the car and called the non-emergency number for help. The dispatcher said, "Oh, we don't do that unless there's a child in the car." I asked why and she said, "We just don't," as if that in itself was a legitimate response. When I pressed further, she went on about how much Weatherford has grown... blah, blah, blah... Here's a solution: hire more people on the force, start paying them more, and take it in taxes on those who make $100k or more yearly. I'm 60 years old, semi-retired, with a disabled husband, and I'm SICK of dealing with this kind of lacidaisical attitude everywhere I go!

If I could give them 10 stars, I would! Weatherford Police Department and all the Police Officers and staff that work at the station are amazing at what they do. They take pride in protecting and serving the community. Everyone I have ever came into contact with has been very kind and willing to help. Every time I have ever been pulled over the police officer has been very professional and courteous. Most recently I was away at work and my wife called concerned that someone may be in the backyard. I hung up and called the police station and explained what was going on. Within seconds while I was still on the phone, a police officer was walking the perimeter of our house with the flashlight out making sure the property was secure. AMAZING service! Every time and every where they go. A great

3 police officers one of them being a supervisor(very concerning to me if he's showing other officers that this was okay when it was absolutely was unethical and against the the PD code of conduct)showed up at my Apt at 3am for a " wellfare check" after I the victim called concerned about the welfare of my grandkids and the perpetrator threatening me and harassing me at my work place) they showed up and when we opened the door they said they were " tired of my daughter Shelby calling and complaining" They did not ask if anyone was okay due to a claim of a *welfare check-intead the officer told me and my daughter not to waste police resources said we needed to stop arguing with whom was reported for harassing/threatening/on drugs and had my grandkids to which they refused to do a wellfare
