This legendary Arlington institution (just outside of DC) is an absolute must visit for anyone craving classic American roadside food. The food here is, without exaggeration, delicious. ​I highly recommend trying their famous Half Smoke, it’s grilled perfectly, loaded with their signature chili, and truly lives up to the hype. Everything, from the main course to the crispy home fries, tasted fresh and satisfying. ​Beyond the food, the service makes this place shine. The staff working the walk up window were incredibly friendly and welcoming. That was by far the worst chilli dog I ever had in my life.. it was the half smoke chilli dog .. the half smoke tasted reheated and old.. VERY TOUGH to bite.. chilli was barely there and covered with onions.. smelled weird.. even had my girlfriend try to make sure I wasnt being extra. Will not return here.

I ordered via DoorDash. The order was ready quickly because they keep a set amount of food in a warming box. I thought the food was good, especially for the price. The half-smoked had a lot of flavor with the perfect amount of condiments. The burger was okay. I should've gotten chili on it instead of the onions. It would've given the burger more flavor. The gentleman behind the counter could've been friendlier. He told me that I should've ordered from the restaurant instead of ordering through DoorDash as he handed me my order. What he didn't know was that I had DoorDash credits and rewards that paid for my entire meal. 😊 I just smiled at him and said "oh really?", walked away, and enjoyed my food in the park close by. It's a classic neighborhood counter service take out joint. I'd say it's a good treat after a long visit to the VA DMV. Good quality stuff, better prices. Only part I didn't like was the relish, they use the sweet kind. Other than that, was all good & not asking about the relish was on me. Looking forward to next time.
