Westbury Memorial Public Library

A wonderful library with a wide range of materials to use and different spaces to meet various needs (ex. Individual Reading/study, group work, computer use w power outlets available). Easily accessible from both local roads and highways.

This library is great. The restroom and water fountain are conveniently located at the entrance in case you need to use it right as you come in or leave. It’s usually quite clean which helps tremendously when you need to feel safe and get focused on getting work done. The custodial staff do a great job. The librarians are helpful and friendly. They always have lots of cool programming to look into, free classes, donation drives, etc. It gets a little busy after school lets out but the kids always keep the noise to a steady murmur which is easy to tune out and sometimes it even works as white noise while I’m working. The employees and community spend their time here in a way that makes you believe that something good can work.

Librarians are very biased they let some people talk on their phones and enforce the rules on others. The morning security guard is very loud and always talking to someone. In the main part of the library there is no quietness. I have been here for a week straight and noticed this only happens on the weekdays not weekends. Unless coming on the weekend I don’t recommend

Very comfortable space to spend time, a lot of study desk. Media section is like a music-store :-)

Loud Employee guy in computer area on phone the entire time talking about sports betting needing some theraflu and real estate and drinking and other random crap tonight. This lasted for 30 minutes finally gave up and moved. Was trying to help my daughter with her HW and then read but it was impossible. Then go to another area and random people are walking the isles on the phone. Then move to.another area and people near manga and grafic novels and yelling and laughing. This behavior is all fine but not in a library. Looks like they have a nice selection of blu rays. Place would be fine if it was quiet. Never been to a library before with so many peoon the phone.
