Wide River Inn

We loved our stay in Le Claire this past weekend. This apartment is on the second floor above the Wide River Winery. It is spacious, very clean, with everything you need if you want to make your own meals. There is also a private parking space behind the apartment. Anything you want to see and do is within walking distance so we didn’t even use our car. We checked in at the Winery and Jack greeted us by name as if we were arriving at his home for a party! We had a complimentary wine tasting because we were guests for the weekend. He talked about the wines, recommended activities and events to see in town and made restaurant recommendations. Cozy and spacious B&B located above a tasting room. It’s a one bedroom apartment with a full size kitchen/small table for two, a dining room with a table for four, a large living room with a pull out couch, and a nice laundry area and bathroom. Two heaters on the walls were ample for keeping us warm during our winter stay. Communication was always on time and I had no issues coordinating our stay. Family-friendly too, which is rare for B&B’s in my experience, so you can feel free to bring the little ones along (or leave them at the grandparents)...if you bring them, there’s plenty of space for them to run around. The wine was fantastic. Every bottle we sampled was excellent (we tried all the dry wines, and some of the sweeter ones too...ask about So-Sue-Me-Sue). Lastly, we traveled there

First time here. Did the 4 glasses wine sampler with server providing excellent commentary about the wines. Most wines are from the Clinton, Iowa area. Bought 6 bottles of mixed types. Definitely recommend stopping in for some wine.

It was a great visit. The wines were wonderful and atmosphere was perfect. The rooms were more than enough and their were lots if great things in the town to visit. We also visited the other, production facility. Very nice We will recommend to our friends. Thank you..
