Wow. Does anyone remember the 1st Waco Wienerschnitzel on the corner of New Road & Franklin. Well it closed. I give this place maybe 18 months and. It seems they spent all their money on the building and parking lot and totally forgot the quality of the food. It was $23 of cheap food. I had the Chicago Dog combo and the wifey had the Kraut Dog combo with Chilli Frides. The food was no better than buying Classic Franks Dogs at HEB with cheapest hot dog bun available. Both of my hot dog buns fell apart from being wet. The wifey ate less then half of her first dog. She said the taste was awful. If you want a hog dog night, spend the $23 at HEB. Get some sausage links and the best hot dog buns and get my favorite frozen fries, Lamb Westons Super Crispy Crinkle Cut Fries and a 32oz bottle of Ca

Natalie was very friendly and repeated our order back to us to confirm it was correct. Personally, for how many people where there, I feel that the speed of service was on point and quick. Management was very friendly, as well. The jalapeños poppers are the BEST! I am happy that we have a Wienerschnitzel back in Waco. The old location was a childhood favorite, so it brings back lots memories. My only "complaint" is that I wish this location had more seating, like some of their bigger stores. However! The old location had ZERO inside seating (only outdoor seating), so for this one to have both inside seating and multiple outdoor seating, it's a win. This location is also in a great location, in my opinion.

well first day and they were slammed. 30 or so staff inside and a huge line outside. Went inside and the counter staff was really hustling. It was awesome to see the excitement and the obvious anticipation that the Waco community has shown. I have a special way I like my Polish Sandwich on hot dog buns instead of the Rye bread and always with Kraut. I also ordered some mustard dogs with onions and some fries that we split. I live 11 miles away and drove home with great anticipation as it's been a long time since we had Der Dogs. The fries were great, and sooooo much better than Mcfooeys, BUT they really messed up my order despite my being very specific on how I like the Polish made. There was NO Kraut, (I was charged for it), but worse..... the buns were pretzel buns that were hard and nas

A Roadside Hot Dog Worth the Stop 🌭 There’s a particular pleasure in riding a bike across town for a hot dog. It sharpens the appetite. The wind clears the palate. By the time you arrive, the hunger feels earned. On the edge of the lot stands the familiar red sign of Wienerschnitzel, its architecture half–retro hot dog stand, half–modern roadside stop. The patio outside spreads beneath red umbrellas and steel tables, the sort of place where cyclists, construction crews, and road-trippers could easily overlap. Inside, the dining room is small but cheerful: bright yellow tiles, red diner chairs, and black-and-white photographs from the chain’s early California days. The space feels nostalgic, almost museum-like, as if it’s quietly reminding you that America once built entire restaurant em

A trip to the big red W is like hopping on a time machine and heading to California circa 1999. Classic color scheme with tasteful splashes of red, yellow, and white. Waco is not exactly Cali, but the food is true to its roots. Yes, it's fast food. Yes, the menu greets your face with copius amounts of weiners. Yes, the weiners are 6 inches long. They serve coke products and they do taste good. Fries are akin to Whataburger fries. I got some classic chili dogs. The chili glistens in the light and has bits of meat in it. The chili really does punch above its weight class given the price point. The hype may die down over time, but I hope the consistency remains. Any fan of the big red W knows, there is only one place to go when you want multiple weiners for a reasonable price.
