Willie's Pizzeria & Restaurant

Do you like pizza with no sauce? Then Willie’s is the place for you! What even is this?! I ordered a specialty pie which apparently comes with dough, toppings, and cheese. No base, no red sauce, bbq, ranch, pesto, nothing. Dry. I asked if I could please have some sauce for my pie and instead of accommodating they leeched $4 extra for it. Take that “New York” style section right off that menu right now, because that is not how New York makes pizza. To be fair once I added the sauce, the pizza was good.

We have visited twice on road trips to and from North Carolina. The first time was back in April and it was just what we needed before getting back on our 5 hour drive home. I had brought my cat along for our trip so i was trying to find a place that allowed pets. So glad we found this place! We got pizza, salad and mozzarella sticks. The mozzarella sticks were REALLY good cuz they seasoned them. Suffice to say we enjoyed it enough to make sure to visit the second time we came to North Carolina! Its a small and obscure place but the service is so friendly and food was delicious. You do have to seat yourself as its a very relaxed atmosphere in there haha. We plan to visit every time we get the chance!

Nice place now they have new owners. It's worth stopping in. I had a Meatball Parm sub with added mushrooms and black olives. Enough sauce for the sub, but not enough to make it messy, perfect. Hubby had the Chicken Ceasar wrap. Not sure, but he didn't talk much during dinner, so it must have been good. We will definitely be back.

Saw that it was under new ownership, and since we stopped going there a few years ago, we thought we'd give it a try. Inside was, well, cleaner, our waitress was pleasant and attentive, and the menu was easy to read. My wife ordered a Cheesesteak with well-done fries, I ordered a Sausage Sandwich that comes with green peppers and Marinara sauce. I asked for onions, too, as that usually comes with when I've had it at other places. She said her Cheesesteak was 'Exellent', the fries were Spot On, too. My Sausage sammie was very good. Lots of Sausage and both rolls were perfectly toasted. We really enjoyed our dinner there.

Definitely a whole in the wall...our server was excellent, we were a party of 10, so no easy task to stay on top of everything. Every person in our party raved about their food, we were all so excited to have leftovers! Between all of us, we had pasta, pizza, fried zucchini, the chef special...and everyone was so happy! Excellent service, excellent food. Highly recommend.
