Wok Provisions - Dunwoody (湘遇）

I recently saw this place and noticed it was pretty busy, so I decided to give it a try. From reading the reviews I was in high hopes but sadly I left disappointed. The chicken for all the meals had a really weird texture issue. It looked cooked from the outside but once you bit into it, the chicken was squishy on the inside. The mountain chicken the glaze was way too thick and it was heavy floured to where I could only taste flour. The decor on the inside is very nice and up to date. The staff did a good job checking on me throughout the meal and at times it was weird because they stand off to the side looking at you eat. As a self proclaimed general tso connoisseur, I can tell whats quality and what isn’t, and I can say this is one of the best general tso dishes I have had. It was perfectly sized and cooked chicken with great flavor. I also had the Singapore noodles and it was the same. Not the closest restaurant to my home but im willing to make the drive to have it again!

I had a very disappointing experience at Wok Provision. I ordered BBQ duck, which was advertised as including duck legs, also confirmed with their menu photo they showed us during ordering. What I was served was clearly a duck wing (long, thin bone, very little meat), not a leg. When I questioned this, I asked the staff multiple times, and each time they insisted it was a duck leg, which is simply not accurate. What made it worse was that the actual duck legs were missing from the plate altogether. Instead of acknowledging the issue or checking with the kitchen, they kept insisting I was wrong. Excellent service and food! Little hidden gem. Our server was extremely nice and friendly . My super picky son loved the chicken lo mein, and I enjoyed the beef with veggies. Will definitely be back!

I stopped by for lunch after seeing it on the map a while ago. $10.95 lunch special is hard to beat. I ordered General Tsao’s Chicken. I had the hit and sour soup which was decent and sour. The man dish was pretty good. Chickens were small and a bit sweeter than I would like but the portions were good. The interior is fairly small and minimalistic like a lot of new restaurants. I suspect it may get loud with more people. I will bring my family at some point to try other things but as a lunch spot, this is great.
