Customer Reviews
Vegetal, whimsical, deliciously memorable. Took my husband to Wolfsbane for his birthday and we both loved it. The openers were such a strong start and we remained awed and impressed dish after dish. My husband ranked this as one of his top three meals along with Harbor House and Single Thread. Yes, Wolfsbane is that good. Service was also impeccable. Can’t wait to have another special occasion to come again.
Wolfsbane has been one of the most talked-about new openings in SF, widely described as a must-try dining experience, so I was excited to check it out. Unfortunately, I can’t say I’d recommend it over other restaurants in the city at this price point. I’m writing this review with the level of food and service I expect from a tasting menu in this category. The food was good overall, but only 3 of the 11 courses truly stood out — the crab, the sole, and the caviar course. The caviar course was excellent. The green apple cream added a slightly sweet brightness that balanced the rich, umami depth of the caviar beautifully. It is a supplement, but if you enjoy caviar, it’s worth adding. The sole was probably the best sole I’ve ever had. I was initially skeptical seeing it on the menu — it’s o
Really impressed at how polished the tasting menu was from day 1. Some highlights were the artichoke hearts served in sunflowers, tempura enoki mushrooms, buttermilk cabbage, dry-aged duck breast with fig, and all the desserts. Some former Lord Stanley dishes made an appearance too. Also the decor is stunning! Loved the rich, warm hues and foliage. You need reservations for the tasting menu. They also take walk-ins with an à la carte menu.
Came here with friends for bday~ it’s been a while I liked a tasting menu from top to bottom. NICELY DONE Wolfsbane !! 😀
A delightful experience. The little service details, like having the door open for us with the matrie d' (Alex) welcoming us in, really set the tone of a fab evening. The food was sublime (I've never had cabbage like that), the wine pairing was just perfect (Syrah by Emme melted in my mouth), as were the cocktails (The Partisan was my absolute favorite). I will forever dream of the canele at the end. Thank you, Wolfsbane, especially Carrie, Carlos, Alex, and David! It was so nice interacting with all of you!
