Wow…awful. I ordered kin house Chinese lo mein and sesame chicken. Yo half the lo mein wasn’t even the right color as if someone had made it & realized it wasn’t enough and then just added more noddles without saucing them. The chicken was worse!! Look at the picture and I don’t even take pictures of food like that but this was so bad I had too. It wasn’t sesame at all and half the chicken wasn’t even in sauce so it was just fried chicken chunks without a sesame seed in sight. I took a bite out of curiosity and it tasted like the sauce had sweet and sour in it as well or something. This was bad. I’ve been to the wonder in jersey city and it was at least ok. I should’ve gone to chipotle next door for half the money and I would’ve at least gone in knowing my food will be mediocre but edible.
This was the first time I visited Wonder. It was also the last time. There are a few reasons - the prices are way too high for the amount of food. I ordered a beet salad, mushroom and goat cheese bruschetta and a bottle of water. The beet salad was too small to cost $10.95. It was good but the selling point for me was the za’atar seasoning but it was barely there. Still, It was a good salad. The bruschetta was very disappointing. It didn’t look the photo on the menu. The bread wasn’t as toasted and the flavor was mediocre. I waited over 20 minutes for my food. The poor man who was working at the front, bringing the orders to the customers, was literally running around and was clearly frazzled. There was a woman, I think the manager, who was yelling at the people preparing the food to go
First of all the food tastes like frozen food. I ordered the Thai chicken fried rice, Mac & Green, Brussels sprouts with bacon, and cornbread. The fried rice is dry. The Brussels sprouts is over cooked and too soft. The Mac & Green doesn’t have much flavor, and it tastes old and sour. Overall the items I ordered is about super market frozen food reheated by a 10-year old quality. This is my second time trying Wonder in a different state. The Wonder brand reminds me of the “one drop of blood” scandal in the health industry.
Save your time & money. i’m not one to write reviews, but I don’t know what it is about this location but the process they have for doing orders is not working. I waited 30 minutes to get a quesadilla…Not the first time this happens. You never get your food at a proper time, they take forever and will take other orders that come in before doing the ones that order in the store. Customers walk in- no one greets them for more than 15 minutes. It’s insane.. Then on top of that- the food quality is horrible…the chicken is grimey, i ordered quesadillas and they smashed 2 quesadillas together as one instead of serperating them into 4. They put all the toppings on the side instead of on the quesdilla..It’s just a mess. They need to get a better system going. Just such a disappointment
All in all it was a good experience but the main reason I gave it four stars was because it felt very impersonal. I felt so far detached from the actual restaurant in the “food hall” that was actually making my food. Cool concept though and pretty neat that you can get literally whatever you want and if you were with a group of people who wanted completely different types of food, you could get them all under one roof. Reminded me of a mall food court. The salad I got was good but nothing special. Lady working the counter was nice and helpful but again just felt very disconnected from the actual restaurant especially only seeing the one employee in the entire place.
